EQUIPMENT SERVICING

MERMAID provides full or partial life-saving appliance services including inspection, testing, maintenance and re-certification in accordance with the requirements of ABS, LR, DNV-GL, ClassNK, BV, RS, KR or VR. Lifeboats, rescue boats, launching appliances, on-load release gears and Davit’s winch brakes of various global manufacturers, following IMO and LSA guidelines.  Services are performed by our teams of qualified engineers and skilled technicians, all strongly committed to fulfill the service needs of our customers, they are experienced and well-trained and certified by the manufacturers.

Liferaft Service

Mermaid has many years of experience in servicing of life rafts; we offer our customers a high level of flexibility, expertise and at competitive prices.

We follow strict guidelines for the servicing in accordance with the makers requirements and our technicians follow the makers certified educational programs and continually updated information. We have the appropriate tools and spare parts available, as turnaround time is important to our customers. We ensure that our customers receive fast and convenient servicing.

Lifeboats, Hooks And Davits Service

We offer several servicing options to suit to your needs. MERMIAD is capable of servicing your lifeboats, hooks and related safety equipment according to MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1 and MSC.1/Circ.1277 based on OEM or Flag State/Class approval.

With approved servicing, you ensure safety and reduce the maintenance cost over time and ensuring that your equipment is in operational condition at all times.
All MERMAID technicians are trained to the highest standards and our inspections are carried out with up-to-date information on all current regulations.

PPE Service

Mermaid has specialized in servicing personal protective equipment (PPE), including immersion suits and lifejackets. At Mermaid you get on time and quality service with the right spare parts for optimal crew safety and full compliance with IMO and LSA guidelines. These PPE’s must always be in good working condition at all times and ready to perform and save lives in the event of an emergency.

To keep track of the service schedules, Mermaid offers notifications at customers chosen times before service due dates. With Mermaid, we handle all the planning, paperwork and make sure that the customer avoids any other servicing related hassles.


Liferaft Exchange Service

CONVENIENCE, COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY
Mermaid is a VIKING Authorized Distributor for the territory of Vietnam.
We are part of the “Viking Life Raft Exchange Service”, the benefit of which is a time saving single operation, where we deliver similar rafts with new certificate and take back the expired rafts at the same time.

This is a fixed price per exchange concept and which levels out the costs over the contract period and seen as a very attractive concept by many shipowners having vessels with short port calls.

MANDATORY SERVICING HAS NEVER BEEN MORE CONVENIENT
Included in our Shipowner and Offshore Safety Agreements, this low-entry-barrier concept is available for life rafts and immersion suits, allowing owners to exchange equipment bound for periodical servicing with newly serviced and re-certified equipment, directly at pier or warehouse – for a fixed annual fee per item. With a standard turnaround time of 1‐2 hours, short port stays are not a problem.
With an Exchange Service, you are always sure to have safe and fully compliant equipment on-board.

Fire Fighting Service

MERMAID is capable of servicing your equipment according to MSC.1/Circ.1318, MSC.1/Circ.1432 as per manufacturer approvals based on either class or flag state approval. All MERMAID technicians are trained to highest standards and hence we make sure that your equipment is operational in an emergency.

MERMAID is fully equipped with modern facilities for inspection, calibration, refill and re-certification of the following:

  • Fixed firefighting systems, such as: CO2, dry powder, foam, FM200, water mist and galley hood systems, Novec 1230
  • Portable and Non-Portable Fire Extinguishers
  • Fire horse
  • Portable Gas detector

Load Test

In addition to regular inspections, we provide timely and reliable services for a range of certified load test equipment. MERMAID is fully equipped with modern facilities for load test, and we have experience in the following equipment:

  • Gangway and accommodation ladder
